3. Responsibilities
- Sales Team:
- Provide accurate product information and shipping requirements to the logistics team.
- Coordinate with customers regarding delivery schedules and any special requests.
- Logistics Team:
- Select appropriate carriers and shipping routes.
- Prepare all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and dangerous goods declarations.
- Ensure proper packaging and labeling of hazardous materials.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect products prior to shipment to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Verify proper packaging and labeling.
4. Shipping Procedures
- Carrier Selection:
- Carriers will be selected based on their experience in handling chemical products, their safety record, and their ability to meet delivery deadlines.
- Preference will be given to carriers that are members of recognized industry associations and that have relevant certifications.
- Documentation:
- All shipments will be accompanied by complete and accurate documentation, including:
- Bill of Lading
- Packing List
- Commercial Invoice
- Certificate of Origin
- Dangerous Goods Declaration (if applicable)
- Other relevant permits or licenses

- Sender and recipient information
- Handling and storage instructions
- Hazardous Materials:
- The transportation of hazardous materials will be carried out in strict compliance with all applicable regulations, including those of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code).
- Only trained and certified personnel will handle hazardous materials.
- Appropriate safety measures will be implemented throughout the shipping process.
5. Shipment Tracking and Communication
- The logistics team will track all shipments and provide regular updates to the sales team and customers.
- Any delays or issues encountered during shipping will be communicated promptly to relevant stakeholders.
6. Insurance
- CFR Shipments: In most cases, QUIMUR sells on CFR terms. This means that while we are responsible for the cost and freight of delivering the goods to the named port of destination, the insurance of the goods during transit is the responsibility of the client.
- Insurance Requirements: We strongly recommend that clients obtain adequate insurance coverage for their shipments to protect against loss, damage, or liability. Our sales team can assist clients in obtaining insurance quotes or provide information on reputable insurance providers specializing in the transportation of chemical products.
- Other Cases: In situations where QUIMUR agrees to be responsible for insurance (e.g., CIF sales), the insurance policy will cover the full value of the goods and include coverage for loss, damage, and liability arising from transportation.
7. Continuous Improvement
- The company will regularly review and update its shipment policy to ensure it remains aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Feedback from customers and employees will be used to identify areas for improvement.
